Reckless Ben (Ben Schneider): YouTuber
Reckless Ben (legal name Benjamin "Ben" Schneider) is an American YouTuber, stunt performer, and Gonzo-style investigative journalist. He is widely recognized for his unconventional, often months-long undercover infiltrations of powerful groups like cults or manipulative corporations.
While his channel started with slacklining content in early 2020, he established his journalistic style by documenting his 3-week-long infiltration of Scientology across 11 episodes. From then on, he uploaded similar content mixed with typical prankster videos. Since July 2023, his channel has focused exclusively on these types of investigative videos.
Investigations
Schneider uses investigative journalism methods to expose abuses of power. At the beginning of his videos, he selects topics he wishes to examine in detail, starting by researching the publicly available information. What sets his approach apart is that he does not merely report on the conflicts he finds; instead, he and his friends proactively attempt to resolve them or determine deep insights into the underlying structures. He achieves this through tactics such as infiltration, the use of legal loopholes, and mind games. His findings are typically presented as multi-part series, crafted to be engaging and entertaining for a YouTube audience.
The following section lists his investigations, sorted by relevance:
Bricks & Minifigs
His first video regarding this topic appeared on May 21, 2026, claiming that the US-based Lego reselling company 'Bricks & Minifigs' stole Lego worth $200,000 from a sick, elderly man. [Q1] He learned about this incident through a call to action in his previous video asking for interesting conflicts. While receiving dozens of suggestions, he decided to choose this Lego scandal because it seemed more family-friendly. [Q2]
He did not expect how major this topic would become. It started with the accused store owner as well as the CEO of the whole franchise corporation refusing to cooperate or provide information to resolve the conflict. The situation quickly escalated, with involved Bricks & Minifigs employees allegedly attempting to silence Ben Schneider through an arrest. They reportedly incited the police by filing false reports of drug abuse, death threats, and other crimes, leading the authorities to raid his team’s accommodation with drawn weapons and a search warrant. [Q3]
This seemingly excessive and biased action by the responsible police department, along with connections between the involved officers, Bricks & Minifigs employees, and the Mormons, prompted Ben and his viewers to voice severe criticism of their conduct. [Q4]
Quickly, this incident started to become popular. While he started with around 420,000 followers, by the 6th day after uploading, his channel skyrocketed from 500,000 subscribers to 1.2 million within 10 days. [Q5] This can be attributed, among other things, to reactions from high-reach influencers with more than 15 million subscribers [Q6][Q7][Q8][Q9], as well as many influencers from the Lego and building block community. [Q10][Q11][Q12][Q13][Q14] Later, major news stations also reported on the story. [Q15][Q16] The CEO of Patreon (a platform used to generate income for content, where Ben pre-uploaded his upcoming episodes) spoke out after Bricks & Minifigs requested that Ben's revenue stream be taken down. [Q17] Other Lego resellers, some of whom had business relationships with Bricks & Minifigs, announced the termination of their partnerships or publicly distanced themselves from the company. [Q18][Q19][Q20][Q21]
Mckamey Manor
Reckless Ben's investigation into McKamey Manor began in late 2023, aiming to expose the truth behind the notorious extreme haunted house. Run by Russ McKamey, the attraction had long drawn controversy for its physically demanding, torture-like experiences, extensive 40-page waivers, and a $20,000 completion prize that no one had supposedly ever claimed. [Q22]
By October 2023, Schneider made it his mission to infiltrate and complete the manor. However, his undercover work revealed that the fabled horror house had essentially been reduced to McKamey running a bizarre physical bootcamp in his front garden. [Q23] Schneider further uncovered that participants were being coerced into signing non-disclosure agreements with a severe $50,000 penalty clause, effectively silencing them from speaking out. [Q24] Ben subsequently joined forces with former participants and the production company Trilogy Media to broadcast these testimonies, exposing McKamey's psychological manipulation and contributing to widespread public pressure to shut the operation down. [Q25]
"Lucifer Valentine"
Following his success in unmasking manipulative figures, Schneider turned his attention in early 2025 to the dark corners of the extreme horror film industry, specifically targeting the anonymous director known as "Lucifer Valentine." Valentine had built a cult-like following around his infamous "Vomit Gore Trilogy," sparking years of internet conspiracies over whether the severe abuse depicted in his underground films was real. [Q26]
Schneider methodically deconstructed the director's carefully guarded anonymity. In a feature titled Exposing Hollywood's Most Sadistic Director, released in collaboration with Trilogy Media, Ben successfully identified Lucifer Valentine's real identity as Shawn Fedorchuk. [Q27] The investigation not only revealed the director's true identity but also exposed the harsh realities and psychological dynamics behind his productions, effectively dismantling the mythos.
