Companies that left X / Twitter after Elon Musk's acquisition
Several months after Musk's 2022 acquisition, a study by Media Matters found that 50 of the top 100 advertisers on X (Twitter) had announced or apparently stopped advertising on Twitter. [1][2]
One year later, in 2023, a second report by Media Matters showed how advertisers' posts were displayed right next to anti-Semitic content. As a result, a few more companies stopped advertising. [3]

Companies that have stopped advertising
1. IBM
Stopped advertising on 16 November after appearing next to Nazi posts, as revealed by a Media Matters article. "IBM has zero tolerance for hate speech and discrimination [...]" they wrote in their statement. [4]
2. Apple
Apple was reportedly the platform’s largest advertiser, spending nearly $50 million in the first quarter of 2022.
But they "paused" their advertising. [5]
